Better luck next time.

State of the Union Address
States like [North Korea, Iran and Iraq], and their terrorist allies, constitute an axis of evil, arming to threaten the peace of the world. By seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger. They could provide these arms to terrorists, giving them the means to match their hatred. They could attack our allies or attempt to blackmail the United States. In any of these cases, the price of indifference would be catastrophic.

Washington Post
UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 13 -- With an hour-long slide show that blends satellite imagery with disquieting assumptions about Iran's nuclear energy program, Bush administration officials have been trying to convince allies that Tehran is on a fast track toward nuclear weapons.
The PowerPoint briefing, titled "A History of Concealment and Deception," has been presented to diplomats from more than a dozen countries. Several diplomats said the presentation, intended to win allies for increasing pressure on the Iranian government, dismisses ambiguities in the evidence about Iran's intentions and omits alternative explanations under debate among intelligence analysts.

NY Times
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Defense Department has written a draft revision of its nuclear operations doctrine that outlines the use of nuclear weapons to pre-empt an enemy's attack with weapons of mass destruction, according to a copy of the document available online on Saturday.
[…]The draft also envisioned nuclear weapon use in attacks on enemy installations containing weapons of mass destruction, among other scenarios.

In the end, this is of course the logical consequence of the way things unfolded in Iraq. We successfully identified the enemy. We made up a phony slideshow that determined on the grounds of faulty evidence our enemy was building WMD. We invaded the country and found out that we were wrong. How embarrassing!

Let’s make sure that this does not happened again. So this time around, we identify the enemy (Iran). We make up a phony slideshow that determines on the grounds of faulty evidence Iran is building WMD. Then we nuke the crap out of any installation that we find suspect, thereby destroying any evidence that would prove that our slideshow was phony to begin with. Ahh, much better than this embarrassing Iraq mess with its irritating David Kay's and Charlie Dulfer's.
